Why don’t we dance in church?

 

What an absurd question, right?  So absurd, you may even think you read it wrong.

 

But seriously, why not?  Too embarrassing?  Not dignified?  We have never done that before.  Would not be appropriate?

 

Again, why not?  King David did.  2 Samuel 6:14 says he “danced before the LORD with all his might”

 

Ok, so I am not really suggesting that we get up on Sunday and start dancing in church.  Mainly because I don’t think I would have the nerve.  But it made me wonder:  Have I worshiped God with all my might?  All my might!  I would have to say no.  How exciting that must have been to be leaping and dancing before the Lord with no regard for what others might think.  How powerful to do it with all his might.  How moved he must have been.  I would aspire to that someday.  If it was good for a man after God’s own heart, why not for us?
